I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

Amber + Daniel – Honey Lake Plantation Engagement Preview | North Florida Engagement and Wedding Photography

Thursday, December 15th, 2011

At every turn, Honey Lake Plantation Resort & Spa took my breath away. Sprawling oaks, wild pine barrens, a glistening lake, knobby cypress, sun-dappled fence-lined roads — there wasn’t a thing to dislike about the place. Danny and I felt the same way about the wonderful couple.

Amber and Daniel are getting married at Honey Lake Plantation — which is also where Amber works as marketing director — in March, and after yesterday’s engagement session, Danny and I can’t wait to get back up there. This wedding is going to be amazing! Not only are Amber and Daniel one of those couples who just radiate their love for one another, and not only are they planning a wonderfully personalized celebration, but they couldn’t go wrong even if they skipped decor altogether.

North Florida is beautiful in such a different way from my native Central Florida, and I not only loved the change of scenery, but the change of pace — literally. Honey Lake Plantation crosses the Madison and Jefferson County lines, and Daniel told us a fun fact: Jefferson County, where they live, is the only county in Florida that has no stoplights. None. So we slowed down and enjoyed the scenery. It doesn’t get much better than this.
I can’t wait to get their full engagement online!
