I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

The DeLorenzo Family | Central Florida Natural Light Photography

Friday, July 13th, 2012

We met up at The Casements at 7:00 p.m. this past Monday. It was still swelteringly hot and squint-inducingly sunny. There was one other teensy obstacle to the DeLorenzo’s family session: Baby girl was asleep. Sound asleep. Her aunts had been in the back seat with her on the drive there, tasked with keeping the three-year-old happy. And apparently, all that happiness wore her out!

Not to worry — she bounced right back and was happy to play with her parents, her aunts, her grandmother, and for the camera. Funny faces, wardrobe malfunctions — it was all in an evening’s photo shoot.

Here’s just a peek into some of the fun we had that evening; I wasn’t able to put together a full-length blog post as I prep to head out of town next week to chaperon middle school camp . . . more on that if after I survive the week! But there’s plenty more pictures that we’re working on — including aunts and Grandma — for the DeLorenzos. In the meantime, enjoy!Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and a wonderful next week! Danny will be holding down the fort alone as I’m off reliving my teens at summer camp, but you’ll still be hearing from me on the blog, even if I’m unplugged for the week!
