I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

A Tasting at the Taproom at Dubsdread | Orlando Wedding Photography

Thursday, August 30th, 2012

Yesterday, we headed over to Orlando to spent the evening at beautiful Dubsdread, where Laura and Sam’s wedding reception was held back in June. We weren’t there to celebrate with one couple and their guests this time — we were there to meet a few dozen couples, and lots of other great Orlando wedding professionals at a tasting event that was filled to overflowing with Dubsdread’s yummiest offerings. My personal favorite? A potato bar! At the center of the room, a carving station with mahi mahi, beef tenderloin, and a variety of other choices kept the carnivores happy. Passed hors d’oeuvres and a flowing bar kicked things off, and cupcakes from Serendipity Sweets, Dubsdread’s donut shots, and a chocolate fountain from Chocolate Traditions ended the night on a sweet note.

The lovely setup came courtesy of Orlando Wedding and Party Rentals, Beautiful Chair Covers and Accessory Rentals, and gorgeous florals from Lee Forrest Design. And Darrin from Fun Factory Entertainment emceed the evening and kept the party going.

Here’s a peek into the tasting! And last but not least, our own booth!
Many thanks to the great staff at Dubsdread for making sure that not only the couples, but also the other vendors had a great evening!
