They met in a manner that some people might call slightly unconventional: Set up by a mutual friend, Lindsey flew across the country to meet Spencer on a blind date.
A flight attendant, Lindsey’s flight was free (although I suggested she should always leave that detail out when she tells the story), but she did have to show up at the airport in the wee hours of the morning. In a blizzard. And that blizzard in Colorado Springs is what Lindsey credits with keeping her from backing out — because she knew it was a balmy 80 degrees in Orlando. So she boarded the flight. Lindsey admits that she’d had an exit plan in case the date didn’t go too well, but she never had to put it to use. Spencer swears he won her over with his bowling prowess. And Lindsey says she stayed several days and went right back to Orlando again the very next week.
After they get married in Utah this May, Lindsey will be making another flight to Orlando. She’ll stay again. This time for keeps.
We spent a rather blustery afternoon with Lindsey and Spencer at Tomoka State Park, exploring one of the trails that meanders along the Tomoka River on one side of the park and the beach that slopes up from the Halifax River on the other. It was absolutely beautiful. But I think this pair would have had just as much fun anywhere — it was impossible to wipe the smiles off their faces.
Honestly — of all the couples we’ve photographed, Lindsey and Spencer win the award for Most Laughter-Prone Pair. Not five minutes into our session, Lindsey was already begging Spencer to stop making her laugh because she was afraid her mascara would run. I said that it was just a hunch, but I was pretty sure they’re going to have a really happy marriage.Oh, Spencer, you done good. Lindsey’s ring is truly spectacular. And oh my goodness, you two! These next six pictures make me want to squeal!Gorgeous, right?! After a quick wardrobe change, we headed down onto the beach for some more golden hour goodness. It felt as if we had the whole place to ourselves, and the windswept river beach made me think of Carolina beaches. Pristine. Private. Perfectly romantic. If you want to see even more, watch Lindsey and Spencer’s slide show below, and check out their personal + site, too: lindseyandspencer.laurayangphotography.com.
Lindsey and Spencer, thank you so much for having us there to enjoy the beautiful afternoon and capture all your excitement! We had an absolute blast with you two, and we wish you the very best!
