The forecasters had called for thunderstorms all day — and possible hail and tornadoes. As Amber got ready, tucked away inside a windowless room where she couldn’t see the rain punishing the earth outside, the forecasters’ predictions seemed to be coming true. It poured until forty-five minutes before Amber and Daniel’s ceremony in an alfalfa field. Then the clouds vaporized, the sun blazed bright as if to make up for the stormy morning, and the evening glowed as the newlyweds shared their first dance under the oak trees. It couldn’t have been a more beautiful wedding.
