Their’s was a wedding that happened quickly, but it was far from unplanned. Sisi and Justis had been a couple since starting pharmacy school in 2010, engaged for a year, and happily planning a wedding for next summer when a thought suddenly occurred to them: Why wait? There was no telling what life would bring them — or where it would take them — next summer, after graduation. Why not get married now?
So that’s just what they did. In a matter of just a couple months, Sisi and Justis pulled off the beautiful, relaxed wedding they wanted on Cocoa Beach. It was simply wonderful.
The day began upstairs at the Cocoa Beach Hilton Oceanfront, in Sisi and Justis’s suite overlooking the Atlantic. While Sisi got ready with her girls, Justis was getting ready too, just one floor below. For their first look, we decided to avoid the wind and humidity outside and took Sisi and Justis to a secluded hall inside the resort. What happened was every bit as wonderful as any bride and groom could dream. We were just close enough to hear Justis stammering to come up with the words to tell his bride how beautiful she looked. That’s the magic of the first look.Justis was right — Sisi, you looked positively gorgeous. After the first look, Sisi and Justis had a little while to relax with their bridal party — something that is always wonderful for the couple if we can build it into the timeline. Meanwhile, Danny and I slipped down to the beach to get ready for the ceremony.Sisi headed down the aisle on her father’s arm just as all the cruise ships were sailing out to sea from Port Canaveral. There is so much excitement in hearing yourselves introduced as Mr. and Mrs. for the first time!We breezed through the family and bridal party and bride and groom portraits during the beautiful golden hour light that filtered through the sea oats.Pretty amazing bridal party shoot, right? They were such a blast to photograph! But after a while, we let the bridal party head off to grab a drink while we kept Sisi and Justis on the beach, just the two of them, for a bit longer, and captured some pure magic. They look so effortlessly cool.Favorite! It’s always hard to bring an incredible bride and groom portrait session to a close, but they had a reception to enjoy! This cake! I loved this cake! I’m always fan of all white, and these sugar paste flowers were breathtaking. The evening was an absolute blast!I don’t think anyone saw this coming — but everyone whooped and cheered and absolutely loved it when Sisi and Justis stepped up the pace in the middle of their first dance! And then these guys decided to show that they could be just as cool. Best man Josh rapped his toast to the bride and groom — his best friend since pre-school.Oh, and the dancing? Way too much fun. Or at least that’s what I thought, but apparently, I’m wrong on that count: One of the guests corrected me that there is “no such thing as way ‘too much fun.'” So I guess it was just way fun. Then we were off to the lobby to end the night on a romantic note. . . .See even more in their slideshow!
Sisi and Justis, we couldn’t have been happier to have been a part of your wedding day, and we couldn’t be happier for the two of you! It was undeniable that you two are so deeply in love, and we wish you every joy in your new marriage!
