When they met, they bonded over football. But Matt needed a great excuse to get Sarah to go out on a date with him; her just-passed birthday provided the perfect opportunity. She really needed to go out to celebrate, he insisted, so he’d take her. To which Sarah responded that she was an adult — she didn’t feel a particular pull to celebrate birthdays. But Matt wasn’t taking no for an answer. They could talk football, he promised. The rest, as they say, was history.

History is turning into a beautiful future: Sarah and Matt are getting married this January and will be celebrating once again. Their reception will be at Dubsdread, and we first met them at the Highland Manor tasting back in June . . . when Sarah realized just how pretty the property at Highland Manor is and had the great idea of shooting their engagement photos there. So that’s what we did. Sarah and Matt were absolute pros — and it’s obvious that they share a lot more than a love of football. It’s obvious just how much they love each other.While Highland Manor is best known for the beautiful old house, we’re rather fond of the way the property can look rather jungle-like in places. And we just loved this shot.One of Danny’s favorites from the day . . .. . . and one of mine.At Highland Manor, there’s just no shortage of pretty places to shoot, or gorgeous light.Another favorite!And these made me catch my breath.A quick outfit change and we were back to shooting as the stormclouds rolled in.The rain began coming down so hard you might have thought there was a fire hose aimed straight at the lawn — but we weren’t about to let that stop us.
