As we headed to Sunset Harbor, Kelly told her bridesmaids, “It looks like we’ll be going with Plan B.” As in, an indoor ceremony, on the grand staircase, instead of on the dock, due to rain.

Kelly was ready for anything — ready to simply marry Jeff, and to celebrate the day with their family and friends. But as she changed into her beautiful gown, we watched the sun begin peeking out through the clouds over the river, and Plan A was back on track, complete with all of Kelly’s handmade flourishes. And at the end of the night, the result was exactly what it should have been, no matter where the ceremony took place: Kelly and Jeff were newlyweds, dancing away the first night of their marriage.
