As weddings go, this one is best summed up as “joyful.” And “simply beautiful.” And also “as laid back and fun as the two people who got married.” Kristin and Billy’s wedding day at The Estate on the Halifax – Tavern & Chapel In the Garden absolutely overflowed with love and happiness, and happy, loving tears. It couldn’t have been any more perfect.
For Kristin and her bridesmaids, the afternoon kicked off inside Agatha’s Cottage. Anyone who knows Kristin knows she’s kind of a huge fan of Brussels sprouts . . . in fact, she regularly Instagrams pictures of them as she’s cooking. So Trish from Simply Roses suggested incorporating them into Kristin’s bridal bouquet, and the result was just perfect. This was also pretty perfect:Once Kristin was dressed, she headed downstairs for her first look with her father. Father-daughter first looks are often even sweeter and more emotional than bride and groom first looks because it’s the moment when a father finally sees his daughter, ready to step into this new stage of her life, and is reminded once again that he’s raised her into a wonderful young woman.Since Danny was with Billy and the groomsmen, I was so grateful to have Lauren with me to get another angle and capture incredible shots like these.Billy and the groomsmen were getting ready on the other side of the property. This was a groom who wasn’t nervous. He just couldn’t wait to see his bride. Then it happened — one of the happiest first looks I’ve ever witnesses between a couple. These two are just perfect together.Speaking of perfect — meet the bridal party.Kristin, you were breathtakingly beautiful. After some family portraits, it was time for a wedding!Everything about the ceremony setup — from the location to the decor to the chair configuration, which created an aisle that snaked back and forth between the rows of guests — was stunning.
Married! After finishing the family portraits, Kristin and Billy slipped away for a few more portraits during the gorgeous golden hour light.Inside, the tavern had transformed into the whimsical, wintery wonderland Kristin had envisioned.Kristin personally folded the hundreds of cranes that served as name cards, decorated tables, and dangled from the ceiling.Kristin’s father had planned one of the great surprises of the evening: The traditional Thai dancer who performed during dinner.Of course with Our DJ Rocks, the party got a little wild and crazy! And it ended with the most fun singalong to “Bohemian Rhapsody.”If you’d like to see even more, check out Kristin and Billy’s slideshow.
Kristin and Billy — thank you so much for having us come along for the exciting adventure as you began your marriage! We were so happy to be a part of your wedding day, and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for you next!
