I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

Waiting for Baby Clarity | Daytona Beach Lifestyle Photography

Friday, December 13th, 2013

This was the fifth time I’ve photographed Elizabeth and Stephen and their beautiful family, and every time, I promise, I have more fun. Last week was no exception. I got the biggest kick out of both Dei and Sonnette, who are going to welcome their new baby sister next month. And Elizabeth! Seriously, have you ever seen anyone look as gorgeous as she does, and just weeks before her baby is due?!

We headed out into a field on their relatives’ property on a warm, sun-soaked afternoon.

Elizabeth remembered buying the wagon when she was young, the tricycle belonged to her father when he was little, and the handmade quilt goes back a couple generations or more. I loved that they brought a few pieces of family history along with them as we documented their family’s impending growth in the very near future.Central Florida Natural Light Lifestyle PhotographyDei loved posing in the field, and she has the very best of giggle-smiles. Any time I needed her to smile, I asked her for a giggle, and she produced right on cue!
