I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

Amanda + Brad – Ormond Beach Engagement Photography at Tomoka State Park

Monday, January 20th, 2014

It isn’t every day that one of your best friends gets engaged, and it isn’t every day that you photograph one of your best friend’s engagement session.

I’ve pretty much lost count of the number of engagement sessions we’ve shot over the last several years, but this is one that will stand out for me. Because Amanda has been my best friend since age thirteen. Because she and Brad took us back to the beach at Tomoka State Park where he popped the question last month. Because we couldn’t have had a more beautiful afternoon, and because they couldn’t be more excited to be in love.Ormond Beach wedding photojournalismDaytona Beach wedding and engagement photographyAnyone who knows Amanda well will tell you this picture is so her!

After years of safekeeping, it’s finally out of its box and on her finger where it belongs.Daytona Beach wedding photographerFlorida wedding and engagement photographerDaytona Beach wedding and engagement photographerIt was on this very picnic table — dragged to the edge of the river — where Brad asked Amanda to marry him.Daytona Beach wedding and portrait photographerOrmond Beach wedding and engagement photographerFlorida engagement and wedding photographerI think love is a good look for them.

Amanda and Brad, I am not sure if Danny and I have ever meant it more when we’ve told someone that we are truly thrilled not only for the wedding, but for the wonderful marriage we know will follow. We are so, so happy for you both!

Narrowed favorites to three…can’t believe I was able to do that. Amazing work , Laura! Is this the actual table not at high tide?
