Theirs was a wedding day that dawned overcast and damp, and that didn’t bode well for Molly and David’s courtyard wedding ceremony at the Historic Dubsdread Ballroom. But Molly and David had made up their mind well in advance that, no matter what happened, they were going to relax and enjoy every bit of their wedding day, because they knew it was going to be incredibly special no matter how it unfolded.
How it unfolded was, in a word, perfect: The rain held off for their sweet ceremony and gorgeous portraits, and their party rocked on until midnight. And at the end of the night, after they shared a final dance together alone in the empty ballroom, to a song David had written and recorded for Molly with his band (yes, it was as romantic as it sounds), David threw his hands up in the air and shouted to the ceiling, “This whole day has been amazing!”
He was absolutely right.
Father-daughter first looks, when the bride’s daddy sees his little girl all dressed up in her gown and ready to get married, never fail to be one of the most poignant, powerful moments of the whole wedding day.Molly and the bridesmaids headed to Dubsdread for some incredible portraits before the ceremony. And really, I mean incredible! Everything worked together beautifully, from the soft color palette and the romantic bouquets from Fairbanks Florist to the perfectly mismatched dresses from ModCloth — and of course the super happy bride and her bridesmaids.Molly, you looked ethereal. What a beautiful bride! On the other side of the property, David was getting ready with the groomsmen — his two brothers, and Molly’s two brothers. Nearby, the courtyard was blooming, ready for the ceremony.Married, and ready to celebrate!Love this! How cute are these two?!After portraits, Molly and David got a peek at the ballroom, which was looking — and smelling! — especially sweet that evening.First came an incredible first dance — then an incredible dinner. Molly had promised us some waterworks during the father-daughter dance, and she was not incorrect.
With the tearjerker moments wrapped up, it was time to get their party started!David’s grandmother even got in on the action on the dance floor! At the end of the night, the newlyweds had the ballroom all to themselves . . .. . . and then they headed off into married life, and to their honeymoon in Jamaica!Molly and David, we were honored and thrilled to be able to capture your wedding day! It was truly wonderful, and we hope your marriage will be filled with plenty of new adventures and just as much love and excitement!
