They’re high school sweethearts who met in band. It just took Jon, an upperclassman, a little longer to notice Kassie, who first picked him out of the crowd when she was still in middle school, attending band camp with the older kids. But a friendship eventually turned into a relationship, and that relationship eventually led to a proposal — and this summer, it’s leading to a wedding in Florida, ten years after they first became a couple in their home state of Pennsylvania.

It also led to a gorgeous engagement shoot in the marshes late last month, with plenty of photographic evidence of just how happy these two are together. When Jon looks at Kassie, you can’t help but notice that he knows he’s the luckiest guy in the world, and that is more beautiful than any pristine location or perfect pose. It’s what engagement portraits are supposed to be all about. These two knew it.
I love exploring Florida backwater — and I love introducing non-natives to the heart and soul of Florida nature. Our beaches are beautiful. Our wetlands might be even better.
