Family portrait sessions with littles are always exciting. But how about a family portrait session at the beach with three little men — all under the age of one — and two excited pups? It was so much crazy fun!

We met up for beach portraits on a gorgeous evening, and what unfolded was perfect. If one brother wanted to play in the sand, another wanted to run straight for the water; if one brother got a snack to help him stop wiggling, the others decided we should all pause for a snack break. In other words — it was a typical slice of life with toddlers (and dogs). And when they all got smacked by a wave as they sat on the sand near the end of their portrait session, the boys just splashed in the surf swirling around them while their parents laughed and the dogs jumped in the water. Because isn’t that exactly what’s supposed to happen on a day at the beach?
