They wanted beach portraits — and although, as a photographer herself who knows all too well that we can’t control the weather during a shoot, she really hoped they would end up with a soft, pastel sunset and glassy-smooth water skimming along the beach and reflecting like a mirror.
What we ended up with were her happy family laughing and splashing and digging in the sand, and smiling shyly for the camera, and squeezing each other into the most “I-mean-it (because Mom said I have to hug you)” kinds of sweet little hugs. And the picture-perfect pastel sky and glassy-mirror sea? Just a nice little bonus. I’ll let you in on a secret? Their little man made eyes at me and insisted on holding my hand as we walked down the boardwalk to the beach. His mama said he’s a bit of a toddler-flirt, but I choose to believe he just thought I was something special. Just like they all were!
Pastel sky full off cotton candy clouds? Check. Glassy water that created beautiful reflections? Check. Super sweet kiddos who just kept giggling? Check.
And on that sweet note — we wrapped up and headed home. It was such a happy evening, and such a pretty evening! I’m so glad I got to be a part of it!
