First impressions, you might have heard, are everything. Lucky for Molly and Oscar, they disproved that theory.
It’s lucky for them because they’re having their destination wedding at Tavern and Chapel In the Garden in less than three weeks. And yet when they met about five years ago as co-workers at Disney, Oscar thought Molly was trying to steal his job. Their relationship has evolved pretty substantially since then. They moved to Oscar’s hometown of Miami, Molly made it past “the three year mark,” and both she and Oscar realized this was the real deal. So one weekend, when the couple took one of their semi-annual trips back to Disney, Oscar decided it was time to make things official. As they cruised on the lake outside of Epcot one night, Molly was ready for fireworks. What she got was even better: A gorgeous marquis diamond ring and Oscar’s promise that he wants to share everything with her for the rest of his life. Job not necessarily included.
We got together with Molly and Oscar this past Saturday in Ponce Inlet . . . just as a strong storm cell blew in from the west. We sat in our respective cars, communicating by phone as we watched the rain sweeping across the inlet, and made plans to shoot the next morning if the storm didn’t blow through quickly. But with a bit of patience, we got to enjoy the cool that comes after an ocean storm and some of the most delicious light for Molly and Oscar’s engagement pictures on the beach. I told Oscar he would get major bonus points if he kept a smile on Molly’s face and giggles bubbling from that smile. Molly told me she didn’t have any choice. That’s what Oscar always does.As the evening wore on, the sunset took on an apricot hue, which was so striking against the backdrop of gray storm clouds. And perfect for a romantic stroll on the beach.I loved the way the sea melted into the sky that evening, and how calm and serene the water looked in the aftermath of the storm — and how calm and contented Molly and Oscar looked in each other’s arms. Things weren’t necessarily as calm as they looked, though. Thanks to the gnats that kept us all dancing. . . .
But in between the bug dances, they really were this cute together. You can tell when a couple just works. Molly and Oscar are one of those couples.
Talk about intense — Molly, your eyes are stunning! I cannot wait to see Molly as a bride! And then, as you’ll see, things were getting really dreamy. I told Molly and Oscar that about half our engagement sessions this year fell on dreary, rainy days. And for every single engagement session, the sun at least peeked out for a photo or two. For Molly and Oscar, it pulled out all the stop for an amazing autumn sunset over the inlet.Want to see even more of Molly and Oscar’s engagement session after the storm? Molly and Oscar, thank you so much for bringing us along with you two for this exciting journey as you get ready to begin your marriage! We can’t wait to be there for your wedding day!
