I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

My Favorite Things . . . Right Now: Family Dinners, Vanilla Coke, and Keyless Ignitions | Central Florida Wedding Photographer

Tuesday, June 19th, 2012

Oh, and cheese. Lots and lots of cheese. I forgot to add cheese into the title of this blog post.

I’m enjoying life a lot right now — the simple things, like kicking back with a Vanilla Coke and watching Netflix during a work-free (ish) weekend and planning tonight’s dinner with my parents, and Danny’s dad and grandfather who came to town to go fishing with Danny. They went yesterday, and tonight we’re eating their catch. I’m also enjoying the necessary things, like having our phones (seemingly) in good working order for the first time since we’ve been married — thank you Bright House and Sprint, and please do keep up the good work. And then there are also the really exciting things, like a new car. That in itself is a huge and unexpected blessing, for which we will be grateful for years to come.

Oh, and writing. Lots and lots of writing. That old bug has bitten again, and I’m happy to scratch the resulting itch. That’s how I’ll be spending at least part of my afternoon — kicking back with a Vanilla Coke and Microsoft Word.See you on the other side of the story!
