I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

Fleeting Spring

Monday, March 25th, 2013

We had another camera-less, spontaneous adventure day this past weekend. The plan had been to take the boat up to St. Augustine, but we scrapped that plan pretty quickly as forecasters began calling for bad thunderstorms with hail. So we decided we would head the other direction and spend the afternoon at Downtown Disney. But a quick detour to show Julie downtown Winter Park turned into an entire afternoon in Winter Park, and a stroll through the rose garden where we’ve had a few engagement and wedding day portrait sessions in the past. I’d never seen the garden in such full bloom before. It was an absolutely perfect spring day.

But as gorgeous as the day was, and as much as I loved running around in a short skirt and sandals for a change, it was such a tease. The temperatures are heading back down into the 40s this week. By the time winter finally moves on, I’m afraid summer will be here!

(These are a few iPhone pictures from the garden. Danny laughed at my inability to walk past a rose without taking a picture. I call it archiving.)
