When you were five, where did you think you would be now?
Because I was a big kid, when I was five I knew I needed a real job, so I was going to be an important horse trainer. With lots and lots and lots of horses. And maybe I was going to be a jockey. If I stayed small enough, and, you know, learned how to ride a horse.
When you were ten, where did you think you would be now?
Since I had grown up a lot between five and ten, I decided I would be an author. I was going to write some very successful novels. And have lots and lots and lots of horses for fun.
When you were fifteen, where did you think you would be now?
At fifteen, I knew becoming a bestselling author was a stretch, so I tweaked my future job title: Bestselling-author-of-novels-that-get-turned-into-blockbuster-movies. Whenever possible, horses would be involved.
When you were twenty, where did you think you would be now?
At twenty, I was old enough to know my dreams would always be in a constant state of evolution, and young enough to know I will always be young enough to pursue them.
My whole life, I never saw myself here. But it still feels like the realization of a lifelong dream.~ Laura
