When I was a teenager, it was an annual tradition, and my favorite part of the year: Spending a week at my church’s summer camp at Camp Kulaqua. A week of worship and getting blobbed in the spring and meeting new friends and competing in ridiculous games.
Now I’m a little too old to go as a student. So I’ve started going as a chaperon, and now I help plan the events, too. That’s how I first met Amy. We’re both here this week — along with Jordan and her brothers, and Kaci’s mother-in-law and brother-in-law. We like to try to keep it all in the family.
And you want to hear something funny? David was at the very same camp with his church’s youth group last week!
I can’t wait to see what God has in store for this week — for the kids, for the counselors.
Coming back is like reliving one of my favorite parts of my childhood.
