Yesterday I wrote about how we had just returned from a trip. Sometimes it always feels like we’re just returning from a trip — and that’s because, between trips to see family and friends and photography-related trips, I have only two months on the calendar this year that don’t include a major trip out of state. But even those two months included a several-days-away trip in state.
So sometimes it feels like I’m always playing catch up. Like as soon as I start settling into a routine I like, that routine gets broken, and when I return home, it can be hard to get in the groove again.
Since traveling for work and family seems like it will be a regular part of our foreseeable future (and because, quite honestly, I’m happy to be traveling often), I’m working to come up with strategies to make myself more efficient, to help me work effectively, and to help keep me on track so I don’t end up behind on my work, playing catch up. Danny and I spent a good bit of our drive home from Virginia brainstorming ways to streamline our business and our life. I’m starting to put them into practice this week, and I can’t wait to reap the benefits!
Playing catch up isn’t the way I want to live my life.
