When I came home from the Pursuit 31 Conference a couple weeks ago, feeling absolutely energized and on fire, I knew it was time to change up my daily routine. It was time to slow down and finally get into a rhythm of starting my mornings with Jesus. So, since then, my mornings have involved pulling up to my desk with a hot mug of spiced cider, a slice of fresh banana bread or zucchini bread, my Bible, and my journal. And it has been wonderful. I’ve eaten into my actual work time, but I’ve found I’ve been so much more productive for the rest of the day, and so much more at peace — because the day began peacefully, focused, and purposed.
You know what else? I’ve been really excited for each morning to begin. Even as I head to bed at the end of a long day, I’m already eager for the next morning’s quiet time.
(And, let’s be honest here, another slice of banana bread.)

Laura, I have been doing the same thing this week. I have made a commitment to start building better habits, and one of those is starting my day in God’s Word. I have had a very productive week and have experienced more patience in my work. Thanks for sharing your experience!
