I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

Wedding Planning Wednesday # 60: Don’t Forget Why You’re Getting Married

Wednesday, November 27th, 2013

In the middle of all your wedding planning, sometimes it might feel as if you’re getting married so you can host a wedding. Because you have to. Because wedding planning has morphed into your full-time occupation.

But it most certainly isn’t the reason you’re getting married.Wedding Photographer Daytona BeachYou’re getting married because you’re in love.

You’re getting married because you want to spend your lives together.

You’re getting married because you want to make a life together.

And that life is about a whole lot more than the details of your wedding day. Those are fun, those will make your wedding day feel unique and fancy and wedding-like. But your wedding is a celebration to start your marriage — not the culmination of your relationship. Daytona Beach Wedding PhotographyEmbrace the planning. But whenever you’re feeling overwhelmed or overly caught up in the wedding details, take a moment to remember why you’re getting married — why you love each other so much in the first place.
