I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

Jordan + Wes – Sunrise Anniversary Portraits | Daytona Beach wedding photographer

Friday, January 3rd, 2014

The day Jordan and Wes were married, 12-12-12, was warm and humid, blustery, overcast, and capped off with a dramatic thunderstorm just before their ceremony. The day Jordan and Wes had their anniversary session last month was the exact opposite: Chilly and clear, with a bright golden sunrise over the Halifax River. Either type of weather suits these two just perfectly, and I think a year of marriage has made them even cuter together.

For their anniversary portraits, we wandered along the dock under the Granada Bridge, spotted a marsh rabbit, and chatted about life and goals and the ups and downs of marriage. Mostly ups, they agreed. Almost entirely ups. See for yourself.Daytona Beach wedding and portrait photographyGranada Bridge Ormond BeachDaytona Beach wedding and portrait photographerI was so excited that Jordan and Wes were game for a sunrise shoot — the glowy light was absolutely gorgeous. And it looked great on them.Sunrise portraits Daytona Beach FloridaCentral Florida natural light photographerSunrise engagement portraits Daytona BeachDaytona wedding and portrait photographerI kid you not — it is almost impossible to keep these two from laughing. Which has to be incredibly healthy for their marriage!
