I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

Wedding Planning Wednesday # 68: Setting the Table

Wednesday, February 5th, 2014

At every reception, one of my favorite parts is seeing not only how the room has been arranged, but what it has been filled with. Because there are more possibilities than you might at first think.

There are traditional round tables.Daytona Beach Hilton wedding

And of course sweetheart tables and head tables.Daytona Beach wedding photographer reception photography

But there are also large square tables.Dubsdread wedding photographer Orlando

There are custom-arranged tables for intimate weddings in small spaces.St. Augustine wedding photographer La Pentola

And my recent favorite, feasting tables, also called king tables, where two rows of guests face each other for the meal.Lake Mary Events Center wedding receptionSo when it comes time to set up your reception, know that you have options. Talk with your venue about what kind of setup and what kind of tables work best in the space where you’ll be celebrating, and with the number of guests you’ll be hosting, and go from there. Just note: They all photograph well, so you can’t go wrong!

Happy planning!
