When my cousin Christine got engaged to Greg in May, it wasn’t exactly a surprise. They’d begun dating the month before Danny and I first met — back when they were about to start high school. Which, technically, makes them pre-high school sweethearts. Next summer they’re planning to tie the knot in Rehoboth Beach on the tenth anniversary of their first date, just a few blocks away from the spot where their relationship began. We. Cannot. Wait! We’re going to celebrate with them and just be wedding guests — not wedding photographers — for the first time in years!
We were excited to get their first engagement session (yes, you read that right — there’s more to come!) shot when we headed up to Maryland for their engagement party last month. We met up at Rockville Town Square, before the busyness of the morning rush hour kicked in, and had a great start to the day!
Cutesness overload. Christine was the cutest little kid, and she is still adorable. And beautiful.A favorite! At my wedding several years ago, and at Christine and Greg’s engagement party the day after this shoot, person after person commented that it was clear to see that she and I are related. It’s true, we definitely share some family traits. But more often than not, Christine reminds me of our grandmother. This picture is one of those times. This ring! It was a family stone that Greg had set exactly the way he knew Christine wanted it. It couldn’t be more perfect. In the evening, we headed up to The Rooftop — where Greg popped the question back in the spring.Christine and Greg, you two are perfect together! We can’t wait for round 2 this fall!
