My friends, isn’t that the truth?(Adorable print by Green Tie Studio, but sadly no longer available in their shop.)
Since September, I’ve had this on my desk, right where I see it any time my eyes slip away from my computer screen. I need it there. I need it where I can see it almost constantly. I need to remember this.
Whenever I set my mind or my heart on a goal, I want to make it happen. Quickly. Usually more quickly than possible. When it doesn’t happen according to my timetable, I lose heart and feel defeated. That’s why it’s so important to remember good things take time. And not only do they take time, but we have to intentionally set aside the time to make them happen. That’s a concept that I’m incredibly good at championing for others, but while I can get started with setting aside the time for these good things, I struggle to keep it up.
I’m guessing you can relate.
Building a relationship takes time.
Creating a business takes time.
Honing your skills and talents takes time.
Figuring out what you want to do with your life takes time.
Everything — virtually everything worthwhile takes time. I’m learning to be okay with that, but, surprise! That is taking some time, too.
We have a big announcement about our business coming tomorrow, and we’re pretty excited. It’s taken us a very long time to arrive here. And we believe it is very good. Come back tomorrow when we share all the details!
