I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

It’s the Holiday Season

Tuesday, December 8th, 2015

Whew, is everyone else feeling as busy as I am?!

Yesterday, I saw a little trinket box for sale, and it was stamped with the phrase “Next year, I plan to start putting off my Christmas shopping extra early.” You guys. This is my life. Every single year! I always promise myself I’ll be ahead of the curve next year — when it comes to shopping, decorating, baking, sending our Christmas cards, reading through the Bible for the prophesies and story of Jesus’ birth, planning Christmas parties, et al. But it never happens. Every year, we kept saying, “Next December we won’t be as busy, because we won’t shoot any December weddings!” Well, this year we’re not shooting weddings anymore, and December is just as crazy-packed!

Anyway, while I’m scampering around with times available for just a couple more portrait sessions before Christmas, and while I’m working on other projects, and while I’m doing all the Christmasy stuff that gets pops up each year, here are a few favorites I realized I’d never blogged from a few of last month’s mini sessions!Ormond Beach photographerOrmond Beach family photographerOrmond Beach family photography
