I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

6 Months Grown

Thursday, June 30th, 2016

You may remember this sweet baby girl from her newborn portraits — but if not, I’m more than happy to introduce you to her now, 6 months old and already hamming it up for the camera!

It was a hot and sunny summer morning when I headed back into her adorable nursery to catch up and see what a difference 6 months can make. And it was a little bit shocking: she’s reading now! Okay, maybe not quite “reading” so much as carefully studying the pictures on each cardboard page — but you get the idea. What hasn’t changed is that she’s coziest and happiest when Mom and Dad are snuggling her, and they love her so much the joy just jumps off their faces.View More: http://laurayangphotography.pass.us/june6monthsView More: http://laurayangphotography.pass.us/june6monthsView More: http://laurayangphotography.pass.us/june6monthsView More: http://laurayangphotography.pass.us/june6monthsView More: http://laurayangphotography.pass.us/june6monthsView More: http://laurayangphotography.pass.us/june6monthsView More: http://laurayangphotography.pass.us/june6monthsThis picture on the window seat is a spin on a picture we took when she was a newborn — and one we plan to keep recreating as she grows.
