I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

Our First Magazine Feature: Denie + Tyler’s Wedding Published in The Knot Florida

Thursday, June 12th, 2014

Through the window, I saw the Fed-Ex delivery guy coming up our driveway and met him at the door. It was still drizzly and gray outside after the impressive thunderstorm that had rolled through earlier in the afternoon, but what the deliveryman handed me brightened my day more than sunny skies and put the biggest, goofiest smile on my face. It was a copy of The Knot Florida. And, for the first time ever, one of the weddings we photographed was showcased inside on the magazine’s glossy pages.
Central Florida wedding photographer The Knot Magazine featureFeatured In The Knot Florida Fall-Winter 2014It’s official — we’ve been in a magazine! Although a lot of our goals and ambitions for our photography business have evolved considerably since we first launched this thing three years ago, this is one goal that hasn’t ever wavered. We wanted to see our work in a magazine, printed on real paper pages that people could hold with their real hands. And now that it’s happened — alongside weddings shot by some insanely talented photographers, including our favorites Justin & Mary, not to mention a cover shot by Jose Villa — it feels just a little surreal.

I’ve seen my name in print before, as a byline in newspapers. Seeing our business name in a magazine is kind of like that, but it’s also different. It feels more lasting, and it feels like a real accomplishment, and not only for us, but for Denie and Tyler, too — it was their gorgeous, mostly handcrafted wedding, after all, that got chosen as one of roughly only forty weddings that The Knot Florida features in print each year!Florida wedding photographer published in The Knot FloridaSuffice it to say, we’re pretty excited and pretty honored. So we want to thank each and every one of the amazing vendors involved in Denie and Tyler’s wedding, the staff at The Knot, and of course Denie and Tyler themselves!

The Knot Florida Winter/Fall 2014 edition will be on newsstands soon!
