I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

Georges-Pierre Gets a Bath: A Semi-Sad Story in Pictures

Monday, March 18th, 2013

It was a Sunday afternoon like any other. But we couldn’t put off the inevitable any longer. Poor George really didn’t see it coming. Danny and I felt terrible, but it needed to happen. And this was his face once we were all in the bathroom and I had shut the door behind him.

“Do I have to, guys? Do I have to?”

“Yes, young man. You have to.”“I just can’t believe you guys would do this to me. Again.”“Please save me.”George always goes a bit crazy when he comes out of the tub. We towel him down (which he loves), and blow dry him (which he hates), and then we give him another fresh towel so he can continue drying himself. He never harbors any ill will toward us after a bath, but he also doesn’t seem to recognize the correlation between bath and laptime. Silly dog.

“You guys, now that we have that unfortunate event behind us, let’s never do it again!”~ Laura
