I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

Kristin + Billy – Engagement Portraits on the Halifax | Daytona Beach Wedding Photographer

Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013

Oh, Kristin and Billy, if every couple were as happy as you two, the world would be filled with far more smiles.

I’ve known Kristin for years — since I was in elementary school. When we met, and she was the sophisticated seventh grade student to my lowly fourth grader, I was in awe of her glossy dark curls. Fifteen years later, her curls are as gorgeous as ever. And her laughter has gotten even more infectious. I think it’s clear that Billy — who admitted to having a crush on her as far back as middle school — has made her happier than ever, and it’s just as clear that Billy can’t be anything but happy when he looks at Kristin.

They’re getting married this December with a Tavern and Chapel In the Garden wedding. But a few weeks ago we met up for the warm up, an engagement session along the riverbanks they love to stroll together, on an almost-stormy evening that was absolutely beautiful, and the perfect backdrop for the soon-to-be-weds.It goes without saying that Kristin and Billy looked incredibly giddy-in-love — but this needs to be said: Kristin, you looked fantastic!I loved the thoughtful details and styling Kristin put into their wardrobes — especially her broaches and Billy’s fun tuxedo tee shirt.

Oh, and hello, preppy pink Louboutins!
Are you getting an idea of the amount of fun these two have together?!A quick outfit change, and we were back to the riverbanks.Gorgeous ring, Kristin — and well done, Billy!Looking good, Billy. These next two absolutely make my heart sing — the first because of the comfortable way Billy’s arm rests across Kristin’s shoulders. You can just tell it belongs there. And the second because of the way he makes her glow.Want to see more? Check out Kristin and Billy’s slideshow below.

Kristin and Billy, thank you so much for spending this wonderful evening with us — and for being so in love with each other. We’re so excited at the thought of what the future holds for you two, and we cannot wait for your wedding!
