But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

Kelsey + Craig – Portraits in the Georgia Foothills

Tuesday, May 5th, 2015

Here comes the first of a string of mini photoshoots we did while we were at the CONNECT Retreat in Rome, Georgia last month!

Kelsey and Craig are an incredibly sweet, talented, and loving couple we got to know at CONNECT last year, when we each opted to stay for the extra free day at the end of the conference. This year, we planned a quick sunset photo shoot on the free day, and the sunset cooperated beautifully!Daytona Beach portrait photographersDaytona photographyLove these two! As soon as I saw it on my LCD screen during the shoot, I knew it had to be in black and white. I just love the way it captures the calm, contented confidence you can find in marriage.Daytona Beach lifestyle portraitsPortrait photographer Daytona Beach FloridaThe two pictures above and the one below are favorites, too. Basically, the entire session was filled with favorites! These two were so much fun, and just so happy together!Florida lifestyle portrait photography Daytona BeachDaytona Beach photographerDaytona Beach photographyLifestyle portrait photographers Daytona BeachFlorida lifestyle portrait photographerDaytona Beach Florida portrait photographyPortrait photographer Daytona FloridaDaytona Beach portraitsPortrait Photography Daytona BeachDaytona Beach Florida portrait photographerFlorida portrait photographerLifestyle photographer Daytona BeachWinShape RetreatLifestyle portrait photography Daytona BeachKelsey and Craig, I am so glad we got to spend some more time with you again this spring, and so glad we got you two in front of the camera!
