I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

I remember the start of my wedding day very distinctly. As I woke up, my eyes settled on a stack of books on my floor — I can’t remember what books they were, though — and I simply thought, “Yup, this is my wedding day.” Then I got up, took a shower, and drove to […]

Just before Thanksgiving, I met up with Jamie Galley, a St. Augustine-based graphic designer who runs Studio Mulberry — and my former classmate at Flagler College. I had some questions for Jamie that I knew brides-to-be would share, and I wanted to quiz her about the ins and outs of running a design business, too. So we […]

Several weeks ago, we talked about the importance of a wedding day timeline. In case I didn’t make it clear then, let me repeat it now: A realistic timeline is essential to making sure your wedding day runs smoothly. Also essential is making sure that your whole bridal party, family, and your wedding vendors all know when […]

It’s a story I share frequently. So why not share it again, right? It goes something like this: For our wedding, Danny and I had decided we wanted pies in lieu of a wedding cake. I’m still quite satisfied with that decision — it suited us perfectly. We decided we — my mom, aunt, and […]

Not quite one month ago, Claire and Bill’s dreamy, romantic wedding just about stopped my heart with all its prettiness. The gorgeous flowers, the filmy lace gown, the elegant venues, the antique touches. It was the stuff wedding dreams are made of . . . and clearly, I wasn’t the only one who thought so. […]

This morning, I got to enjoy what I’ve enjoyed for three whole years now: I opened my eyes, and I saw my husband. I can’t image life without him, or life with anyone else. Today we’re celebrating three wonderful years of marriage. Three years ago today was the most beautiful day of my life: Perfect fall […]
