LAURA YANG

I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

Where has the time gone? It feels like just a few weeks ago that Kristy’s stunning Melissa Sweet gown was laid out on her bed, ready for the bride to get zipped up, and that Nick’s bow tie sat by the window, ready for the groom to put it in place. And then they were […]

No matter how busy or how tired or how overwhelmed you might be feeling, you will never run out of beautiful, quiet corners in your life. Savor them, even if only for a moment here and there. ~ Laura

Last week, I headed down to Ponce Inlet with wedding planner Lindsay to scout out the very best location for Jes + Travis’s destination wedding this June. There were so many things to consider when finding the best  spot for their ceremony — the view, proximity to the parking lot, (lack of) proximity to the most tourist-populated […]

As I watched the news yesterday with the rest of the country, I shocked but not shocked, stunned but not surprised. We’ve watched these stories play out too many times, have prayed for countless victims and their families whenever there has been an attack or disaster. But always, always, there is one part of these sad […]

I don’t know about you, but I’d never been to the grand opening of a salon before. Much less a grand opening with the kind of decor, ambiance, food, and desserts you would find at a gorgeous wedding. But that’s what happened last Friday when the beautiful Mirabella Salon in Port Orange opened its doors […]
