I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

They came from the desert, so they wanted to capture some family portraits that looked a whole lot of different from their everyday scenery. Instead of red rocks and cacti and canyons, they wanted rocky beaches and lush foliage and lapping waves. We got in some of everything they wanted, and then some, thanks to a […]

Beautiful things can happen when you’re willing to brave the summer heat and humidity (and dragonfly-sized mosquitoes) for the sake of family portraits. That’s what we found out when we met up for portraits at Washington Oaks one evening last month. The boys kept telling us, “There are flies on me” — and by flies, […]

We thought it was going to rain. Because, oh boy, it had been raining. All day. All week. Right up until about twenty minute before we were scheduled to shoot. So we drove down to the inlet, and we just hoped for the best so we could capture some family portraits and six-month-old baby photos during […]

We met up at sunrise, in front of the condo where this family has been vacationing ever since their dad was the same age as his kids are now. The twins were yawning when they came down onto the beach, and it seemed like the sun was yawning too as it worked its way up […]
