I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

We were expecting to witness God doing Big Things at CONNECT. After all, these were some of the same people who had made the Pursuit 31 Conference such a life-altering event, and there were 42 couples traveling from around the continent to spend several days honing their marriages and seeking God’s will for their businesses. A few weeks ago, as Danny and I sat at the kitchen table eating dinner, I suddenly set my fork down and just listened to the jazz streaming from our living room. “La Vie En Rose” had just come on. In an instant, I was back in Paris, soaking up the ambiance at La Closerie […]

Out of all the days in the year, this is one of the most special to me. Every day, I thank God for bringing such a wonderful man into my life. Danny, I can’t even imagine where I would be or what my life would look like if you hadn’t walked into church that Sunday […]

This is one of those busy stretches where I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed — by work, by life, by the fact that I think I get overwhelmed a little bit too easily. In my head, I keep hearing Dory from Finding Nemo. “Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming-swimming-swimming.” Like these little guys. ~ […]

No matter how busy or how tired or how overwhelmed you might be feeling, you will never run out of beautiful, quiet corners in your life. Savor them, even if only for a moment here and there. ~ Laura

As I watched the news yesterday with the rest of the country, I shocked but not shocked, stunned but not surprised. We’ve watched these stories play out too many times, have prayed for countless victims and their families whenever there has been an attack or disaster. But always, always, there is one part of these sad […]
