I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

Maybe a vineyard wedding with one of the most gorgeous color palettes I’ve ever seen, the Blue Ridge Mountains as a backdrop, and a snazzy vintage getaway car. Yes, it was as fun as it sounds, and today Sharon and Harrison’s wedding is on […]

Not quite one month ago, Claire and Bill’s dreamy, romantic wedding just about stopped my heart with all its prettiness. The gorgeous flowers, the filmy lace gown, the elegant venues, the antique touches. It was the stuff wedding dreams are made of . . . and clearly, I wasn’t the only one who thought so. […]

When tourists think of Florida, they usually envision palm trees. Wide beaches. Mickey Mouse. When I think of Florida, I think of those things, too — but some of the first things that come to mind are a little different. Spanish moss. Scrub pines. Palmetto brush. Clear springs. Marsh grass. Manatees and songbirds and lizards. […]
