I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

Ormond Beach Sunrise Senior Portraits

Tuesday, August 29th, 2017

This is only Part One.

That’s right. Claudia’s senior session was so much fun (and involved so many beautiful portraits in two different locations) that I decided to split it into two blog posts. Later this week, her equestrian portraits. But today, her gorgeous sunrise beach portraits:This was one of our first frames of the morning…and I knew it was going to be a very good morning!
The flawless makeup came courtesy of Makeup by Tiffany. The all-around loveliness came courtesy of Claudia herself (and the pretty pink sky).I will never tire of photographing a perfect set of lashes.
I have to admit, this morning began a bit overcast as I drove to the beach, and I was concerned we might not get much of a sunrise. But the colors popped across the sky and rippled over the water, and even as the finest mist-of-a-rain hazed over us, we could not have dreamed up a more glorious morning!
And, Claudia, you are stunning!Stay tuned for Part Two of Claudia’s senior session — portraits at the stable, with her thoroughbred mare — later this week!
