I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

It’s kind of becoming a recurring theme that I’ll blog a bunch of sessions . . . and then the blog will fall silent for weeks or even months at a time. A few years ago, daily blog posts were at the heart of my photography business. Now — things have changed! As our adoption process […]

Beach portraits during vacation are some of my favorite things. Beach portraits with a high school senior with fond memories of the beaches in Ponce from all her visits to Florida to see her grandparents? Better and better! I met up with Lauren on a gorgeous evening, and she made Ponce look even better than […]

Graduation has happened, and this girl’s ready to head out of state and off to college! But before that all unfolded . . . I’m so glad I got the chance to shoot her gorgeous senior portraits this spring! If this girl isn’t the definition of camera-ready, I don’t know what is. She was so absolutely […]

We talked about the college Janvi hopes to attend, her love of writing, the next travel destination she’ll check off her list. And somehow, in the middle of all that, we found the time to create some stunning senior portraits as the sun peeked through the soft December mist. Gorgeous, girl! By the end of […]

This is Part Two of Claudia’s amazing senior portrait session. Click here to see Part One, her sunrise beach portraits. It took a while for the two of us to tear ourselves away from the vivid sunrise at the beach, but eventually we headed across town, ventured down a long and very muddy dirt road, and […]

This is only Part One. That’s right. Claudia’s senior session was so much fun (and involved so many beautiful portraits in two different locations) that I decided to split it into two blog posts. Later this week, her equestrian portraits. But today, her gorgeous sunrise beach portraits:This was one of our first frames of the […]
