I've
always been
storyteller.

But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.

I've
always been a
story-teller.

That was back in 2010.

Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them. Or saw them. It's my privilege to tell those stories for my clients, and for the generations of their families still to come.

Sometimes you stumble into the perfect locations by coincidence. And sometimes those locations turn out to be not-so-coincidental at all. After I learned a wedding was scheduled at the park where we’d originally planned to shoot, I did a little sleuthing around to find a similar spot, where the afternoon sunlight would spill liquid gold […]

Nearly a year ago, on the coldest day of the year, I photographed the youngest member of this sweet family for her first birthday portraits. Last week, we got together in Palm Coast for a full family portrait session, and thankfully the weather was a lot milder for us this time around! They laughed, they played […]

Between the glowy light filtering in through the pine needles and the girls’ outfits decked with sparkles and tulle, there was an almost ethereal feel to this session that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. It was beautiful, and it was sweet. A few years ago, I photographed these girls all dolled up for […]

A year after photographing Chelsie and Josh’s wedding on her family’s spectacular property, and four years after photographing Taylor and Jerry’s wedding, I headed back down for a full set of family portraits — just this time, without any wedding attire. Of course, these portraits wouldn’t have been complete without several of their Gypsy Vanner horses […]

Thanks to one Hurricane Matthew, we had to change what was supposed to be an afternoon beach session (on what turned out to be a very rainy, gray afternoon) to sunrise the following week (on what turned out to be an incredibly lovely morning). It was the first time these little guys had ever watched the […]

I had never been to the Bulow Plantation Ruins before, but not for lack of trying (thanks, random park hours that keep this placed closed every Tuesday and Wednesday!). Then I pulled up on a gorgeous afternoon to shoot this session, and I realized I’d been missing out on something incredible. This place is a slice […]
